DSM

Decision Surface Mapping (Geva & Site's DSM) is a variant of LVQ. It approximates the decision boundaries directly and requires a previously edited training set (note the parallelism between DSM and traditional condensation algorithms).

IMPORTANT: DSM does not work when there are overlapping classes.
